I have removed a little wax and there is some blackening to the interior/around the rim of the candleholder just visible on the back side (see photos

(Six issues of the bi-monthly publication were produced in total before publication ceased in 1922

but it is such a lovely thing I think probably better to hang indoors--it just needs a simple hanger added to the back or a few small nails to rest on

Carved Alabaster Trinket Box with Hand, Presumed Victorian wabi-sabi And curiousI've certainly come to love carefully mended things as much if not more than ones perfectly in tact, which is definitely the case with the broken and re glued piece of thumb on the carved hand on the top of this trinket box, alabaster I believe, which looks rather as if wrapped in a clear band aid! Mends such as this clearly attest to the care of its owner, and in this case I rather like it as a complement to the twisted bracelet around the wrist. I
