This is a real fossilized armour segment from Glyptodon an extinct giant armadillo the size of a Volkswagen beetle! Dating back to the Pleistocene, these specimens were found in Florida. This segment measures 6. 5" wide! Unfortunately we are lacking the location data, as this came out of a large and old collection. It is suspected to be South American material.
