This beautifully chiseled effort is quite backward at present but I very much like the upside development potential

Mild reduction masks the underlying fruit but not the spice nuances that can also be found on the velvety

Very cohesive

I wasn't a fan of Barolo before tasting this wine

Phelan Segur other_regions balanced acidity and elegant tanninsA legitimate sleeper that is still young and rich, this 2003 possesses lots of cassis, earth and mineral characteristics in its smoky, spicy, vibrant, young personality. It has reached its plateau of full maturity where it should remain for another decade. This would have been a great buy in 2003.
