The almshouses and school in Pitfield Street, Shoreditch, were established by the Haberdashers' Company under the provisions of Robert Aske's will dated 1689; they were most frequently known as Aske's Hospital (sometimes as Haberdashers' Almshouses). The building was designed by Robert Hooke.
