The frame shows wear and what I believe is a some old paint along the left edge--I would probably leave as is myself because I am lazy that way

but in case not evident there is a sort of carved bolt that extends from one of the architectural cages to the next

very often haunted by a sense of melancholy or bittersweetness as I think is the case here
