though it reminds me so much of the work of Clarice Cliff (British)

as if it might be based on an illustration from a book by Jane Austen or one of the Bronte sisters

with interlocking wooden pieces that fit together to form a rectangle

and cut tin fins--silver on the body

who had some truly fabulous things

I think the design is really lovely, with a mix of thin and thicker blue stripes, plus one unglazed band on the lid that is just the right thing. It feels very French to me, and would be gorgeous on the countertop in a rustic farmhouse kitchen, but also in a crisp white one. And it's plenty large to hold a lot of whatever one wants to store
