Over time I've become more and more attracted to things transformed by time and the forces of nature--in this case that force likely being a mouse who nibbled away at this creature's nose
I purchased these drawings from a dealer in Romania and was not quite certain what to expect
4 3/16" d x 1" t and in very good presumed antique condition with a lovely patina to the dry wood
There are several blank pages at the end of the notebook
with a handful of loose teeth as noted and shown in photos
Edwin Kosarek 1950 Erongaricuaro Drawing - Portrait as Map of Michoacan language Over time I've become moreI think his drawings were so good, lyrical and true feeling, and consistently inventive and surprising and this one combines two of my favorite things one: a portrait and a map! A point near the top of the head of this woman in profile is labeled Erongarcuaro (which means "Place of waiting" in the Purepecha language), a town in the Mexican state of Michoacan, and then down the train track like line to her wrist is the famous colonial town of Ptzcuaro.
