I believe this birdcage dates from the 1930s or so
with a 2 1/4" diameter at base and 3/4" diameter at lip
as they seemed rather less concerned with the details of the face of this presumably Dutch man--sweetly and a bit hesitantly penciling in eyes
there is more warmth and golden-ness to the finish than is coming across in the photos
